Atypical Valentine’s Dates

// Written by Rebeka Alvarez-Heck //

We all know that Valentine’s wouldn’t be complete without food – whether it’s breakfast in bed, a warm brunch, or a romantic, candle-lit dinner. But before (or after) the meal, what’s there left to do? Valentine’s Day doesn’t have to be cliché, and these five date ideas are sure to make your Feburary 14th anything but boring.

1. Emporium Arcade Bar // This bar has a wealth of 90’s arcade games that will turn your date into a total flashback. No one ever said Mortal Kombat wasn’t romantic.

2. International Museum of  Surgical Science // Here you can peruse cardiac surgical tools that will make your date’s heart melt instantly.

3. Arts & Spirits // Even if you are only the sansei of stick-figures, painting classes (that are BYOB) put a colorful spin on “after dinner” drinks.

4. The Boring Store  // This place is basically a spy’s WalMart and a chill community hang out spot. You can’t have Valentines without a little espionage.
